Saturday, August 30, 2014 5:00 - 7:00 PM Bring the entire family to the KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort located in Gurnee, IL on the Saturday of the Labor Day Weekend. While there, come and visit with Scottie from 5 - 7 PM during the Labor Day Luau. Scottie will be doing roaming performances and will be providing photographic opportunities at the Luau location. The Luau and the visit with Scottie is free and is separate from the water fun area which requires admission. One of the largest, longest, and most lavish parades in the Chicago area, the Houby Day Parade pays homage to the Czechoslovakian culture (Houby is the Czech work for mushroom) which was rich in the Berwyn Cicero area when it was originally settled. The parade kicks off at 12:00 Noon in Cicero at 56th Ct. (1 block west of central Ave.) on Cermak Rd. heading west into the Town of Berywn and ending around Riverside Dr. Come to parade where you can have a chance to see and maybe touch Scottie as we pass by. Have your camera ready to shoot and we'll even stop for a quick photo. Pictured above from the 2011 Houby Day Parade with the Houby Day Queen, Scottie is brought to the parade by the Town of Cicero. So your best chance to have us stop for you is east of Lombard Ave in the Town of Cicero where we will be walking a slower pace. The entire Houby Festival runs Tuesday, September 30 — Sunday, October 5 Saturday, October 11, 2014 1:30 - 3:30 PM Catch Scottie in Mount Prospect for their Fall Festival. Scottie will be appearing for your entertainment and to touch and hold. Be sure to bring your camera so you can capture your or your children's picture with him. Look for him as he wanders the festival between 1:30 and 3:30 pm. The festival will be running rain or shine in downtown Mount Prospect, IL in the downtown merchant district on the 100 block of South Wille. The event is being sponsored by the MPDMA - Mount Prospect Downtown Merchant's Association. Stores will be open and merchants will appreciate your patronage.
