For Saturday only, Scottie the Parrot will be making a special guest appearance before and during the performance by the Barefoot Hawaiian at the 2007 Taste of Des Plaines event.

Scottie will be performing for physically and mentally
challenged children and adults and their families

We've been informed that Scottie will have his own dedicated photographer assigned to him this year
so we can better serve our special friends with little to no waiting to have their photo taken with Scottie

Admission is free and open to the public for 
individuals and families affected by disabilities

With the Barefoot Hawaiian band and dancers

Chicago White Sox Home Game

In the Stadium

It's "Beach Day" at US Cellular Field for this home game of the
Chicago White Sox as they battle the Minnesota Twins, Game time at 2:55 PM CDT

Scottie the Parrot will be in the stadium this year at 2pm (an hour before the game) and remaining for most of the game until 5pm (about the 7th inning).  Scottie will be working with the FanFoto team giving fans and guests an opportunity to have their picture taken with him.

Come to the game and look for Scottie as he roams the stadium with a photographer.  Flag them down to have your picture taken with Scottie.  Then after the game visit the Chicago White Sox web site to find your photo with Scottie and take advantage of the opportunity to purchase the photo in print or on other items like a mug, T-shirt, and more.

Come to the game early and catch the pre-game entertainment at the Gate #3 entrance to the stadium, where the Barefoot Hawaiian will be performing.

CD/DVD Signing by Top Hawaiian Artists,
Makaha Sons and Hoku Zuttermeister

Coming here from Hawaii, the musical group, Makaha Sons, will be signing DVDs and CDs and solo artist Hoku Zuttermeister will be signing CDs and Scottie the Parrot will be present to add to the festivity of the event.  The event is sponsored by the Barefoot Hawaiian and their store will be open special hours from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm for this signing.  Come and purchase the CDs and DVDs of your choice and then meet the artists and have them sign your purchase.  Then visit and have your photo taken with Scottie while you are here.

Worth Day's Festival Stars and Stripes Parade

12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM

Rain or shine, Scottie will be marching the parade route in beautiful Worth, Illinois for the Worth Day's Festival, Stars and Stripes Parade organized and provided to you by the Marrs-Meyer American Legion Post #991

The parade route will be 111th Street running from Natchez Avenue to Depot Street

Scottie will be position #12 in the parade

Luau for Love

Scottie will be a featured performer with others from the Barefoot Hawaiian
for an entire day of fun, food, entertainment, prizes, music, and more.

Opportunity to have your photo taken with Scottie and buy an 8x10 print right there for only $5

This a benefit luau for the recovery of Jim Zuziak
All proceeds go to the Zuziak family

Mount Prospect Fall Festival

11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Scottie will be appearing for your entertainment and to touch and hold at the Mount Prospect Fall Days Festival.  Be sure to bring your camera so you can capture your or your children's picture with him.  The festival runs from 11 am. to 2 pm. Look for him as he wanders the festival between 11:30 am. and 1:30 pm.

The festival will be running rain or shine in downtown Mount Prospect, IL in the downtown merchant district on the 100 block of South Wille.  The event is being sponsored by the MPDMA - Mount Prospect Downtown Merchant's Association.  Stores will be open and merchants will appreciate your patronage.

In addition to Scottie you will enjoy a variety of talent performances by various artists that will include Holiday Hulas by the Barefoot Hawaiian dance team, an American swing dance exhibition, various ethnic presentations, and a variety of holiday music  The full event runs from 1:00 - 5:00 PM, with Scottie present from 3:00-4:30.

McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Parade
(Chicago State Street Thanksgiving Day Parade)

For those of you returning to this site for an update on this weather-permitting appearance, please note that due to below freezing temperatures with even the possibility of snow showers for that morning, Scottie will not be participating in the parade this year.  

Please note however that Scottie's human friends at the Barefoot Hawaiian will be in the parade, and he will be watch them on TV from the comfort of his perch, and he asks you to watch for them too.

Attention: Our French-Speaking Friends
UFEC Christmas Party

UFEC (Union Des Francais A L’Entranger) is celebrating its annual Christmas Party with the theme:

Christmas At The Beach!

Scottie will be entertaining children and adults throughout the entire event.  We have planned for the children to teach Scottie to learn some French and do one of his regular tricks when commanded verbally in French.   Lots of fun and photo opportunities.  In addition, hula dancers from the Barefoot Hawaiian will also be performing.
